UCRH, in collaboration with Northern NSW Local Health District and the North Coast Allied Health Association, recently held two half-day workshops for local allied health professionals. The workshops were focused on trauma informed care and covered trauma Informed health care delivery, impacts and strategies around vicarious trauma and clinician wellbeing.
The workshops delved into the importance of understanding trauma in healthcare delivery, the effects of vicarious trauma, and strategies to cope with it.
A total of 44 allied health professionals from across the northern rivers actively participated in these workshops, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Participants have already started implementing changes in how they work with clients and how they prioritize their own wellbeing.
