New retrieval doctors at Lismore Base Hospital have started an intense training journey. Following a week of pre-hospital training in Sydney, it was time for them to sharpen their inter-hospital skills, simulating the critical care emergencies that the doctor/critical care paramedic team faces.
Using our Simulation Centre, the new doctors were immersed in intensive scenarios that offered a valuable opportunity to hone their skills and familiarize themselves with the latest equipment through hands-on practice with a mannequin.
Their next destination is flight training, followed by six months working in the Rescue Helicopter and Retrieval ambulance units.
