The people, partnerships and defining moments behind 25 years of University of Sydney rural health are being celebrated through a new exhibition and online story collection from UCRH.
The Corridor of Memories exhibition and 25 Years, 25 Stories collection were launched as part of UCRH’s 25th anniversary celebrations, bringing together photographs, milestones, memories and personal reflections from across the Centre’s history.
The exhibition takes visitors on a visual journey from UCRH’s beginnings in 2001 to its place today as a collaborative hub for rural health education, research and workforce development.
It documents the major milestones from UCRH’s first 25 years and features an extensive collection of images capturing the students, staff, partnerships, programs and community connections that have shaped the Centre.
Alongside the exhibition, 25 Years, 25 Stories puts people at the heart of the anniversary. The collection shares the experiences of staff, students, alumni, health professionals, researchers, community partners and supporters who have contributed to UCRH and rural health in the Northern Rivers.
Together, the projects capture much more than a timeline. They show how relationships built over many years have supported students, strengthened the regional health workforce, created new knowledge and connected the University with local communities.
Head of UCRH Professor Vicki Flood said the anniversary was an opportunity to celebrate what had been achieved and look ahead.
“We’re proud of what we’ve achieved together over the past 25 years, but we’re just as excited about what’s next.”
The full exhibition, documenting UCRH’s major milestones and featuring its extensive image collection, will remain on display at UCRH’s Lismore campus until the Community Open Day on 17 November 2026.
