Breakfast for lunch at Mummulgum

We are so proud of our Griffith University Nutrition and Dietetics students, Samantha and Simon, who have just finished their community and public health placement at Mummulgum Public School.

They did an amazing job as community dietitians, working with the school to promote healthy breakfast habits among the students.

They designed and delivered a three-week nutrition program, which included education sessions, nutrition activities, games, fruit and vegetable tasting, cooking workshops, breakfast recipe books and more.

The program ended with a ‘Breakfast for Lunch’ event, where the kids impressed everyone with their new cooking skills and four delicious recipes.

Sam is graduating in December and Simon is starting his Honours project soon. We wish them all the best for their future careers as dietitians.

We are grateful to the students and teachers of Mummulgum Public School for their enthusiasm and participation in this program.
