Health Collaboration Challenge

The UCRH recently hosted the Health Collaboration Challenge, an exciting interdisciplinary initiative developed by the University of Sydney.  There were 53 students across medicine and allied health from eight universities working in multidisciplinary teams and showcasing their creative skills to solve a complex patient case study.  Each team was required to produce a five-minute video and two-page treatment plan.   There was a great energy on the day and the quality of the presentations submitted from the teams was outstanding.

Student feedback from the day showed how much the students enjoyed this experience:

“Thank you for leading the amazing health care challenge on Friday. I learnt so much from collaborating with the other health disciplines. It was the perfect way to end the last day of our first week here” (USYD physiotherapy student)

“Thank you once again for a well-organized and beneficial collaborative learning experience which I will use to guide me in my future clinical experience” (SCU nursing student)

“Thank you for organising a great day of learning! I had a great time and I would think that most students learnt a great deal about the MDT approach in a real life case study. There is certainly something challenging about competing against your peers when it comes to learning and application of knowledge in a healthcare setting! Overall it was a great day, and a learning experience that I will value for a long time to come. Thank you for taking time to run this quality event” (ACU Physiotherapy student)
