In late October, a group of allied health students on placement with UCRH spent the day with the Old Bonalbo branch of the CWA.
The event – a French-themed women’s wellness day – was a perfect opportunity for them to share advice and insights related to their fields of study (nutrition and dietetics, speech pathology, social work and occupational therapy).
However the day was also much more than that. As Sarah Crook, UCRH Clinical Educator notes in the video, the day was also an important opportunity for our students to visit an area they may not ordinarily see, and to hear from local residents about their experiences of accessing health services.
This was the third year UCRH has worked with the CWA to deliver this event, and we appreciate the opportunity to connect with this incredible community organisation.
Watch the video to see how the day unfolded, and the hear what the experience meant to our students.
