Dr Vanette McLennan has joined UCRH in the new role of Academic Lead and Associate Professor Allied Health. Vanette will play a pivotal role in leading education and research at the UCRH with a focus on the allied health program.
We asked Vanette a couple of questions in her first week in the new role:
What led you to join the UCRH and what excites you about this role?
Having returned in recent years to my hometown in the Clarence Valley, I was ready for a new challenge, a new team and something I could really get behind with immediate and long-term benefits to our local communities. Enter UCRH! I feel incredibly lucky to be joining such an amazing team of educators, researchers and support staff. I’m excited to support UCRH’s invaluable work in our region and can see many opportunities to showcase and evidence its impact in communities and rural health workforce development.
What’s your favourite hidden gem in the Northern Rivers region?
Well, I’m not one to give secrets away and the locals may never let me return if I give too much away, but I will say that the Sandon River is one of my all-time favourite places in the world. How lucky we are to call the Northern Rivers ‘home’!
