UCRH hosts pharmacy event

We recently hosted an infectious disease training course for pharmacists. Fourteen hospital pharmacists attended from Lismore, Ballina and our MPS sites. The training was endorsed by the Society of Hospital Pharmacists Australia.

A Specialist pharmacist (Antimicrobial Stewardship, Antibiotic Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Sarah Risdale – Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital) facilitated discussion groups on the day- covering key clinical topics such as vancomycin and therapeutic drug monitoring, respiratory infections, sepsis, skin and soft tissue infections and urinary tract infections.

The day was supported with funding from the Rural Pharmacy Training program (RPLO).
