MD student takes out Dean’s Prize for Research

UCRH is delighted to share news that Tim Watson, a Sydney Health medical student who undertook a rural placement with UCRH, has won the 2024 Dean’s Prize for Research (Public Health).

The work he did to win the award explored the relationship between climate change and skin cancer and implications for prevention and management, and was supervised by Professor Ross Bailie with secondary supervision from Jodie Bailie and Michael Tong (ANU).

This is the second year in a row that a student who undertook a placement with UCRH has taken out this award, with Bradley Shea winning in 2023.

He went on to publish his scoping review and you can find the article here.
