A personal and professional insight

UCRH research fellow Dr Rebecca McNaught has shared personal and professional insights into the experience of last week’s approach of Cyclone Alfred.

UCRH has a number of researchers including Dr McNaught who have led various studies around the impacts of devastating flooding in the Northern Rivers in 2017 and again in 2022.

As South East Queensland and Northern NSW braced for the impact of Cyclone Alfred, community preparations were in full swing, something Dr McNaught reflects on in her piece.

Dr McNaught’s words were shared in The Conversation and drew on her work around community collaboration across the region in response to disasters.
