2019 RCPE Futuristic Medicine Symposium – programme

Our 2019 Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh (RCPE) symposia series will start with a focus on advances in how we approach, understand and practice medicine.

Sessions will examine how we can harness the potential of ‘Big Data’ and review the advances in basic science that has rapidly advanced our medical knowledge in the last decade with significant progress being made in understanding the factors that underpin pathophysiology of important debilitating and devastating diseases.  This progress is beginning to change the way we diagnose and classify disease and offer treatment that is tailored to the individual, not only because society faces the challenges of an ageing and potentially more frail population, but also as we aspire to explore more extreme environments including Space. With an array of professorial and expert speakers, we are all set for another thought provoking, mentally stimulating learning opportunity to welcome the year.

Like before, this event will be televised live from the RCPE Scotland, and is registered for CPD points. Attendees are welcome to attend selected sessions as they please. This event is made possible with support of the RCPE and Northern NSW LHD. The event is free-of-charge to attend – all health professionals and students are welcome.

RSVP via email to [email protected] by 30th January 2019.

We look forward to sharing another evening of learning.
