A Clarence Health Strategic Education Committee has been established to oversight the vision and direction of the education team and has met three times. The Committee has been very successful with the following outcomes to date:
• Shared and better understanding of the roles and how the education team works together to deliver a complex range of education programs and activities
• Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats has enabled us to develop strategies that will form the basis of a Plan and direction for the future
• Commitment to interdisciplinary education within the Clarence Health Service
• Junior Medical Officer led Grand Rounds to support education program of clinicians and students
• Engagement of undergraduate clinical teacher to support nursing student placements
• Commitment to additional learning and teaching spaces in the masterplans for the Clarence Health Service
• Clearer understanding of Committee members of the role of education in the modern healthcare organisation and the functions of the education team
• Statement of funding sources for education activities and how we work with key stakeholders
Our team in Grafton is extremely experienced with many staff performing dual roles within the Health Service. This brings a breadth and depth of experience and strength to our team to enable continued innovation within the team to deliver high quality programs for students from all disciplines.
