Course Overview

This two-day Paediatric ALS Program is suitable for health professionals in the provision of paediatric advanced life support in a clinical setting. Accredited by the Australian College of Critical Care Nurses (ACCCN) and based on the latest Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, the program includes a comprehensive Paediatric ALS manual, access to an e-learning quiz, plus a 2-day interactive workshop including assessment and certification.

Target Audience

Registered nurses, medical officers and paramedical staff who:

  • Require Paediatric ALS Certification
  • Are new to Emergency, Intensive Care, Anaesthetics, Recovery or HDU
  • Work in small facilities with limited medical cover

Topics covered in the workshop include:

  • Pharmacology
  • Legal and ethical
  • Electrical therapy
  • Post resuscitation care
  • Advanced airway management
  • Paediatric anatomy & physiology
  • BLS & ALS algorithms and principles

Course Overview:

This two-day ALS Instructor Program is suitable for health professionals who are responsible for teaching advanced life support in a clinical setting. Ac-credited by the Australian College of Critical Care Nurses (ACCCN) and based on the latest 2016 Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, the pro-gram includes a comprehensive Adult ALS manual, plus a 2-day interactive workshop including assessment and certification.

Topics covered in the workshop include:

 Content delivery

 Simulation and scenario development and implementation

 Debriefing as a learning tool

 Conducting assessments

 Providing feedback

 Opportunity for resuscitation educators to network with their peers
